In Samastipur, an uncontrolled truck hit a hardware businessman couple riding a scooter. In this incident, the uncontrolled truck broke the railing of the overbridge and hung from the bridge. However, it was fortunate that the truck did not fall under the bridge, otherwise many devotees who were gathering to perform Jalabhishek could have lost their lives. In this incident, Deepak Sharma, a hardware businessman riding a scooter and his wife Sushma Sharma, resident of Mohanpur Nakku Sthan, were seriously injured. As soon as the incident happened, a crowd of local people gathered at the spot. They rushed both of them to the hospital, where the doctors gave them first aid and then seeing their critical condition, referred both of them to Patna PMCH. The condition of both remains critical. On receiving information about the incident, ASP Sanjay Pandey and Sadar SDO Dilip Kumar reached the spot and brought the truck hanging on the railing of the bridge back to the road safely. At present, the police have seized the truck.
The truck hit from behind
Regarding the incident, the local people told that Deepak Sharma and his wife Sushma Sharma were returning to their home in Mohanpur from the market late in the evening. Due to the crowd of devotees on Thaneshwar bridge, the couple started going towards the over bridge. Meanwhile, a truck coming from behind hit them. As soon as it hit, the truck became unbalanced and broke the railing of the over bridge and hung on the railing in the middle of the bridge. During the incident, the truck driver and his assistant driver opened the gate and jumped from the truck and escaped.
A big accident could have happened with the pilgrims
Local people said that due to this accident on the over bridge, there was chaos among the people walking on the road below the over bridge. They said that a large number of people were going on this route to perform Jalabhishek at Thaneshwar Sthan temple. However, it was fortunate that the truck did not fall under the bridge, because if the truck had fallen under the bridge, many devotees would have been buried under it, due to which many could have lost their lives.
